Permanent Hair Colour

Andreia Professional Permanent Colour is a vegan, ammonia-conscious permanent hair colour offering up to 100% grey coverage with long-lasting, intense colour and shine. Part of an 85-shade range, it’s formulated with quinoa protein, prickly pear (opuntia) extract, avocado oil and sunflower seed oil to strengthen and nourish the hair fibre while it colours, finishing with a light fragrance rather than the harsh chemical smell of older permanent formulas.

You will also need Developer Cream
This is a two-part permanent colour system, the colour tube on its own will not develop or process on the hair. It must be mixed with Andreia Professional Developer Cream (sold separately) at a 1:1.5 ratio, for example 100g of colour to 150g of developer, in a non-metallic bowl. If you’re colouring at home, add a Developer Cream to your basket in the strength you need (typically 20 vol/30 vol depending on the level of lift and grey coverage required) before checking out, or the colour won’t work once it arrives.

How to use:
Mix the colour with Developer Cream in a 1:1.5 ratio (e.g. 100g colour : 150g developer) in a non-metallic bowl. Apply to dry, unwashed hair. Leave to process for the recommended 35 minutes, up to 40 minutes for stubborn or resistant grey hair. Rinse thoroughly, then follow with Andreia Professional Co-Wash Post Colour to seal in colour and shine.

Carry out an allergy patch test 48 hours before every application. Not recommended for use on anyone under 16. This is a professional-strength permanent colour, so if you’re new to at-home colouring, do a strand test first and follow the timing and mixing ratio exactly.

Is this colour really vegan, and does that affect performance?

Yes, vegan simply means the formula contains no animal-derived ingredients. It doesn't change how the colour performs; you get the same coverage, longevity and shine as a standard permanent colour.

How much grey does it cover?

Full coverage, up to 100% of grey hair, even on resistant or stubborn greys.

Do I need anything else to use this, and in what ratio?

Yes, this colour must be mixed with Andreia Professional Developer Cream before use; it won't process on its own. The ratio is 1:1.5, so for every 100g of colour you'll need 150g of developer. If you're buying to colour your own hair at home, make sure you add a developer to your order, as it isn't included with the colour tube.

Does it have a strong chemical smell?

No, it's a light, subtle fragrance with woody, aquatic and citrusy notes, so the application process is much more pleasant than older-style permanent dyes.

What's the texture like?

A smooth cream, which makes it easy to apply evenly.

How long do I leave it on for?

35 minutes is the standard processing time. If you're covering particularly stubborn or resistant grey hair, extend this to 40 minutes.

How long will the colour last once applied?

That depends on your hair's condition, how much it's been chemically treated before, how fast it grows, and everyday factors like sun exposure and washing frequency. Using a colour-protecting aftercare routine will help the result last longer.

Do I need a patch test first?

Yes, always, carry out a skin sensitivity test 48 hours before every application, even if you've used the product before without issue.

Is it suitable for under-16s?

It's not recommended for anyone under 16, simply because the product hasn't been tested in that age group, not because of any known safety issue.

Can it be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

There's no evidence linking permanent hair colour to reproductive harm, and continuing with a colour you've used safely before is generally considered fine unless a doctor has advised otherwise. If in doubt, check with your GP or midwife first.

What if I have a scalp condition like eczema or psoriasis?

Don't apply any colour or chemical treatment to broken, inflamed or otherwise compromised skin unless it's been specifically approved by your doctor.

Is it normal to feel a slight tingling or itching during application?
